"Strategies for Becoming an Effective Engineering Manager"

Presenter: Patrick Sweet, P.Eng., PMP

President, Tandem Consulting

26 January 2022

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (EST)

Many ambitious engineering students dream of one day transitioning into management and leadership roles in their careers. When an engineer finally makes the jump from being an individual contributor to a manager, however, it’s very common for them to feel overwhelmed and unprepared. It’s not until they assume their new roles that they realize how significant a departure management is from their previous role, and how little preparation they were provided by their organization. This webinar is designed to teach aspiring engineering managers some of the key skills they need to develop early in their careers in order to become excellent future leaders.

Attendees will learn:

  •   The important differences between management and leadership
  •    How to develop practical leadership skills at any career stage
  •     Self-management skills and how to transition those skills to formal leadership roles
