Abstract: Effective engineering management requires effective leadership, which is even more critical today given the increasing frequency and magnitude of crises. We are facing times of high levels of uncertainty and very rapid change. This roundtable will consider best ways of managing various crises according to the experiences of selected experts from around the world who will present specific case studies, some background and context, summarize the approaches they used and how effective they were, discuss the gaps in knowledge and what would have helped them to deal better with the crisis they faced. The purpose of the roundtable is to facilitate knowledge sharing and potentially to form a working group at ASEM on complexity and crisis management.
